During the Gallo-Roman era, Lyon was supplied with some 75,000m3 of water daily transported by four aqueducts: Mont-d'Or, Brévenne, Yzeron and Gier, the most recent. Remains of the latter, 86km-long, can still be seen on either side of Rue Roger Radisson, the former Aquitaine road. You will also see the remains of the fountain, offered by Claude, fed by the waters of the Gier.
