Sarreguemines (sculpture by Frank Stella)
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Standing on the Kirchberg Plateau, Sarreguemines, a wild sculpture if ever there was one, is the fruit of a collaboration (1993) between two friends, and, more to the point, two stars. Frank Stella, the American painter and sculptor, dynamited reservoir tanks and scrap iron parts. A rather gentle spiralling movement ensues, in sharp contrast to the two imposing minimalist buildings, one round, the other rectangular, by the American Richard Meier. This is the headquarters of the HypoVereinsBank.
