To the south, in front of the new main building, the palace grounds have been planted with Baroque-style flower beds and areas of greenery. Further away from the palace, the landscaping is in the English style. In the Fairies Garden (Märchengarten), folk tales and legends from Germany (stories by the Brothers Grimm) and abroad are illustrated by mechanical figures. The Favorite castle designed for Duke Eberhard Ludwig's mistress between 1713 and 1723 and Monrepos castle are also worth a visit.
