This fort is perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking Lourdes, at the entrance to the seven Lavedan valleys. It was the residence of the counts of Bigorre in the 11C-12C and is now home to the Pyrenean Museum, which is devoted to local popular arts and folklore. One room focuses on "Pyreneanism". In the chapel there are wood panels, altars and wooden statues from the old parish church. On the esplanade, models illustrate French and Spanish Pyrenean architecture.
