Marylebone combines the appeal of a prosperous residential district with the dynamism of a busy commercial area. Oxford Street and (to a lesser extent) Marylebone High Street are permanently teeming, but a stone's throw away are calm and verdant squares. There are also fine 18C residences built for the upper classes - one of which now houses the famous Wallace Collection - and curiosities such as Broadcasting House, renowned home of the BBC.
