It was in this house that Pessoa, unanimously deemed one of the great Portuguese writers, spent the last 15 years of his life. It has been refurbished in a modern style and is now used as a cultural centre, specialising in Portuguese and international poetry, as well as an exhibition centre for paintings, sculpture and so on. The works of Pessoa and his archives are also kept here.
