The remoteness of the Canary Islands prolonged their prehistory until the Middle Ages. This rich collection of anthropology and archaeological objects belonging to the island's pre-Hispanic cultures. The Museo Canario displays mummies, idols, skins, ceramics, and terracotta and wooden seals called "pintaderas", the purpose of which remains a mystery.
