The hill next to Tam Tanh Cave is the symbol of Lang Son and is known as Nui Vong Phu (Mountain of the Waiting Woman), because of the rock shaped like a woman standing and holding a child. The hill is the subject of one of the many tragic love stories that abound in the literature of Vietnam.
