This château cuts a fine figure, with its windows behind which there is now only a void. Overlooking the River Eze, it was built between 1555 and 1575 in the Renaissance style by an Italian architect. A fire devastated it in 1780, but fortunately the département undertook its restoration in 1974. Today, two imposing pavilions frame the monumental and richly decorated gateway, the keep stands in the centre of the enclosure, as it did in the 16C, and the cellars house the Musée des Faïences.
