The museum is housed in Berlioz's birthplace, a bourgeois residence dating from the late 17C that was restored in 1969. Artefacts such as original scores, old musical instruments and portraits open up the composer's world to you, while a look around the kitchen, dining room, Dr Berlioz's consulting room and the room where Hector was born gives you further insights into Romanticism and the women he loved and helps fully appreciate his artistic legacy. His pieces are played in the auditorium.
