Frescoes of the chapel Notre-Dame-des-Fontaines
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The remote Notre-Dame-des-Fontaines chapel stands in the Mont-Noir valley overlooking a mountain stream. First built on the site of a holy spring in the 2C or 3C, its high windows date from the 18C, main body from the 14C-15C and chancel (from a previous chapel) from the 12C. But most striking of all are the chapel's frescoes. Painted in 1492, these cover the entire interior: those in the chancel depict the Virgin and are by Giovanni Baleison.
