This crookedly shaped, almost theatrical square is lined with countless café and restaurant terraces. There is a café installed in the old keep (Glavna gradska vrata), formerly the gate to the town and guards' tower, while opposite a Gothic house is now home to a gallery and a basement café. All enjoy the view of the picturesque Vela Placa and its refreshingly cool central well, adorned with bas-reliefs (one of which depicts St Kvirin, the town's patron saint).
