De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
In the upper part of the town of Imari, nestling in a hollow of the wooded, steep mountainside, the village of Ôkawachiyama perpetuates the tradition of porcelain made from kaolin found in the region. After crossing the bridge adorned with white and cobalt blue ceramic, walk along the pedestrian lanes lined in old buildings, many of which are still home to active kilns, workshops and galleries. Since the 17C, the best work produced here were named Nabeshima Ware.
