Founded in 1929, the museum charts 7 000 years of history of one of China's most fertile provinces, conducive to the flourishing of prosperous cultures. Courtesy of an extensive collection of exhibits and relics (ancient pottery, engraved jade disks, furniture, bronzes and greenware), visitors travel through its history, from the Hemudu civilisation (5 200-4 500 BC) and to the sumptuous period of the Song dynasty in the 13C.
