George Lennox, Duke of Richmond, illegitimate son of Charles II, lived in this manor that was originally James I in style and enlarged in the 18C. The elegant Regency style interiors have French furniture, tapestries (tapestry room), porcelain. The Egyptian dining room with its plates of yellow scagliola, has been restored to its past glory.
