Gödöllo is the most important Baroque palace in Hungary, and is associated with memories of Emperor Franz Josef and Empress Sissi. The palace layout is unusual, with seven wings arranged perpendicular to one another to the rear of the main building. Inside the building, the royal apartments have been faithfully reconstructed. An exhibition pays tribute to Empress Sissi, while another section is dedicated to the Grassalkovich era (the palace's Baroque period).
