This formerly Renaissance castle was extended and rebuilt in the early 18C as a residence of the prince-bishops of Fulda. Visitors to the castle can admire the apartments, the richly decorated Imperial and Princes' Halls, the porcelain collection and the Rococo-style hall of mirrors which is considered to be the jewel in the castle's crown. In the gardens, an orangery (1724) is graced with an ornate Baroque Floravase (1728).
