The Alpes Mancelles offer a highly varied geographical relief, at one end of the Armorican Massif and at the junction of the three départements of Sarthe, Orne and Mayenne. Pilgrims once crossed these lands en route to Mont-Saint-Michel or Santiago de Compostela, and traces of these many journeys can still be seen, for example, in the numerous hiking trails that exist today.
