This small building, accessible via the 14C cloisters and attached to the church, is one of the most exquisite works by Brunelleschi, built by the architect for the Medici's great rivals, the Pazzi family. Brunelleschi worked here until 1445, although the chapel was not completed until 1460, long after the artist's death in 1446. The interior is a superb example of Brunelleschi's architectural ideal which he had already expressed in San Lorenzo. The cloisters also lead to the Museo dell'Opera di Santa Croce.
