Fichtelberg (1 214m) dominates the Oberwiesenthal winter sports and health resort and is easily recognisable from a distance by the weather station. A wide panoramic view of the surrounding countryside unfolds from its peak, which you get to by cable car. Klínovec (1 244m), the highest of the Ore Mountains, in the Czech Republic, can be seen to the south.
