Thirty years older than Bou Inania theological college and more modestly sized, this madrasa was founded by order of Sultan Abou Said Ohman. After passing through the monumental doorway, its bronze-plated doors decorated with carved tracery, you enter the courtyard. From top to bottom, the subtle effects of zellige tiles, plasterwork and sculpted cedar wood combine to create decorative splendour and boundless imagination. This incredibly elegant monument is the apogee of Marinid art.
