This national park in the province of Belluno was created in 1993 to preserve this stunning area, both in terms of its landscapes and the wealth of its natural habitats. Having fewer tourists and being more hemmed in than its more northerly counterpart, the park will appeal especially to hikers who want to get off the beaten track. Only two roads pass through it: the R203 and the SP2 in the Val del Mis. From the park it is easy to return to Belluno, in the Veneto (10km to the southeast).
