De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Situated at the crossroads of several valleys, this former stronghold controlled by pillaging knights stands 100m above the village of Erlenbach. The upper castle dates from the 12C, and the lower from the 15C. Destroyed by fire in 1591, the castle was rebuilt in the late 19C. The knights' hall, hunting gallery, 104m-deep well, old kitchen, blockhouses and tunnels hollowed out of the rock are all open to the public. From the terraces, the view extends from the rolling landscapes of the Wasgau region as far as the French border.
