Sanctuary of the Holy Crucifix of Papardura
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
In 1659, a cave was found to contain a painted stone slab so they built this sanctuary around it. The slab attributed to Basilian monks today rests upon the high altar. The interior is decorated with beautiful stuccos by Serpotta. The silver facing of the grand altar dating from the 17C is admirable, as are the engraved, painted leather facings of the side altars.
