Not a single photo can convey the emotion of seeing this wall of ice at close quarters. Several viewpoints and walkways enable visitors to get a closer look at the glacier rising 60m above the water and measuring 30km in length, 5km in width and with a thickness of between 150m-170m. Admire the play of light on its blue-tinged surface, listening out for the slightest crack which is the precursor for a block breaking off it, waiting for it to crash into the sea with the sound of a thunderbolt.
