Weckmund, Wahlenbourg and Dagsbourg are the names of three massive, square, red sandstone keeps standing on the hilltop. They belonged to the powerful Eguisheim family. When the family died out, the castles became the property of the bishops of Strasbourg in 1230. They were burnt down at the end of the so-called "War of Six Oboles", a conflict that divided the middle classes of Mulhouse and the country nobility.
