Synod Hall is the venue of a fascinating interactive exhibition, Dublinia, which brings the medieval city to life: audio guide, wax figures and artefacts. Discovered for the most part amongst the debris accumulated on the banks of the Liffey over the centuries, they chart the daily life of the Vikings and the Normans. Climb to the top of St Michael's Tower (96 steps), before leaving the museum along a covered gallery that links it to Christ Church Cathedral.
