The entrance façade boasts a central portal with severe lines. On the first floor, the grand chamber of the parliament of Flanders (1762) room is decorated with a huge marble fireplace, Louis XV sculpted wood panelling, a portrait of Louis XIV and allegorical 18C paintings. In the old prisons overlooking the Scarpe (of which Vidocq was a restless inhabitant) are exhibition rooms.
