Beschrijving
This fine Gothic church, where the remains of Inês de Castro rested before being transferred to Alcobaça, has been gradually reduced to ruins by the Mondego sands. Where sand was cleared the foundations of the cloister, nave and chancel were found. An interpretation centre charts the history of the building and how it was saved, as well as the daily life of the nuns of the Order of St Clare who lived within these walls from the 14C to 17C.
