With 24 000sq ft of living space, Calhoun Mansion ranks as Charleston's largest single residence. Built in 1876 for wealthy banker George Williams, the home passed to Williams' daughter Sally and her husband, Patrick Calhoun. The mansion comprises 35 rooms, fitted with lavish Victorian-era furnishings. The airy second-floor music is crowned with a glass skylight, while the gardens are adorned with fountains and box clipped in French style.
