Campiña, between Seville and Cordoba, is an agricultural region of gentle slopes; its olive groves, fields of wheat and vineyards divide the land into a pretty patchwork. Its towns are testament to 3 000 years of history, during which some of the finest bygone civilisations flourished: the Alcázar de Puerta de Sevilla and the Roman necropolis in Carmona, the historic centre of Osuna, the walls of Estepa, and the vestiges of Roman baths and Écija's Palacio de Benamejí.
