Valcamonica, a valley running from Edolo to Lake Iseo, is known for its extraordinary rock drawings which have been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Drawn on rock faces smoothed by glacial erosion, these works of art are testament to the daily life of the so-called Camuni people of the valley and of their evolution from hunters in the Palaeolithic Era to farmers and then metalworkers. The best place to view these engravings is in Capo di Ponte in the Parco Nazionale delle Incisione Rupestri.
