The ancient Tashibunosho Osaki rice paddies are a listed Japanese cultural site. The curved lines that delimit each plot are over 1300 years old. The rice cultivated here has been used to feed the faithful and monks from the neighbouring Shinto shrine of Usa-jingu ever since the 8C. A lovely 500m/1,700ft-trail leading to a viewing platform allows visitors to fully experience the patchwork of colours of the surrounding countryside, especially at dawn and dusk.
