This Fine Arts Museum, opened in 1992, is devoted to expressionist artists (works by Augustus Macke notably), and covers German art since 1945. Among others you will find the pieces by Baselitz and Kiefer. Three rooms are devoted to works by Beuys. The neighbouring exhibition hall of the German Federal Republic, signed Gustav Peichl, is preceded by 16 pillars symbolising the German Länder.
