This is the most astonishing church in Bogotá. It was designed by Giovanni Buscaglione (1874-1941) and built between 1926 and 1938 in a Florentine neo-Gothic style blended with features of Byzantine and Moorish inspiration. Red and white stripes on the façade, ridge turrets and pinnacles, small corner and window columns: it all contrasts with the surrounding tile-roofed houses and the colonial or Baroque façades of the capital's other churches.
