The elliptical Plaza Moyúa, adorned with a strip of flower beds, is named after one of Bilbao's mayors. The square is crossed from east to west by the Gran Vía, a busy shopping street which is also known as the Calle Diego López de Haro after the city's founder. On the square, note the eclectic Palacio Chávarri and the Gaudí-style Casa Montero; it's also worth going into the Carlton hotel to admire its glass ceiling. And don't forget to look up and admire the view of the Artxanda and Pagasarri mountains which watch over the city.
