This fortress on the hillside of Bassano used to control the Val Lagarina and the communication routes between the Holy Roman Empire and the Italian peninsula. The oldest sections date from the 12C and it is the largest fortified structure of the province. In the Palazzo di Marcabruno, replicas of weapons and armour, videos, reconstitutions and scale models chart the battle of Calliano between the Tyrol and Venice in 1487.
