Situated just behind the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church), the Europa Center is the earliest modern example of a shopping mall. A commercial and business centre, it also houses restaurants, cinemas and a famous cabaret, Die Stachelschweine. Inside the centre, the Time-flow Clock is the work of the French artist Bernard Gitton.
