The Mexican Embassy was designed and built by the Mexican architects Teodoro Gonzales de León and Francisco Serrano between 1998 and 2000. One of its distinguishing features is its façade of "concrete marble" slats, made of white cement and Thuring marble, which endows it with its gleaming appearance. The building achieves a perfect compromise between the sobriety sought by Berlin in the 1990s and a monumental quality more redolent of Mexican history.
