De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Built by Schinkel from 1825 to 1830, it was the first public museum in Berlin. The 87m/285ft-long colonnade of the main façade, supported by 18 Ionic columns, is a masterpiece of neo-Classical art. Note the dome adorned with frescoes inside the building. The museum houses collections of archaeological antiquities, Greek and Roman antiquities, most of which are quite small as the Egyptian collections and larger pieces have been transferred to the Neues Museum.
