This temple, a delightful mix of Western and Eastern influences, is the work of an Italian, Hercules Manfredi. Built at the tail end of the 19C, Wat Benchamapophit boasts Carrara-marble walls crowned with pagoda-style roofs, while its interior features stained-glass windows, inspired by European churches, depicting Buddhist characters. Don't miss the collection of Buddhas in the galleries surrounding the cloisters, assembled by King Chulalongkorn, and the standing Buddha, in the centre of the courtyard.
