The church chancel contains various tombs and funeral monuments among which that of the Margrave Leopold-Wilhelm and that of Ludwig the Turk (1753). The remarkable sandstone crucifix is most eye catching. This 1467 masterpiece by Niclaus Gerhaert von Leyden is considered to be one of the outstanding examples of sculpture from the late Middle Ages. Also keep a look out for the exquisite late Gothic filigree tabernacle.
