Across the street from the Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site Visitor Center, the King Center presents a number of his pastoral robes, including those he was wearing when he was assassinated on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. Outside is the simple marble tomb where the Reverend and his wife are buried, in the middle of a basin close to which the flame of a memorial burns bright.
