Quimbaya Gold Museum
De Groene Gids
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
Armenia's gold museum is housed in a brick building that earned its architect, Rogelio Salmona (1927-2007), the National Architecture Prize in 1986. Known for their sophisticated goldsmithing, the Quimbaya produced some of their finest and most emblematic works between AD 300 and 600. The highlight of a magnificent selection of gold objects is the poporos, traditional receptacles used to store the lime that would be mixed with coca leaves.
