The flowerbeds reach up to the foot of the eastern façade of the palace. Built by Boutelou in 1746, this French garden is made up of an harmonious arrangement of flowerbeds and great trees (cedar and magnolia). The fountain of Hercules brings a little mythological touch. To reach the Garden of La Isla on an island in the middle of the Tagus and decorated with fountains among the chestnut trees and poplars, cross the canal that used to supply the mills.
