The town hall is housed in the old convent buildings (to the right of the church, in the market square). The small municipal museum on the first floor exhibits sculptures and modern paintings including by Amadeo de Souza Cardoso: this painter born near Amarante was a friend of Modigliani and Robert and Sonia Delaunay and discovered Cubism in Paris.
