The ruins of this small 12C castle are well worth visiting - you can wander through its flower gardens, along its gangways and climb right up to the keep without having to follow a guided tour. The castle houses a museum, plus a small room selling refreshments with tables laid out on the ramparts, which look out over the whole valley. The silhouette of Thurant castle with its two towers can be seen on the riverbank.
