To the left of San Michele cathedral stands the most important early Christian building in the region. This octagonal baptistery, dating back to the 5C, has preserved its baptismal font and a sumptuous Ravenna-style early Christian mosaic. The beautiful windows, carved to create a lace effect, are also worthy of note.
