De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
The Benedictine Admont Abbey has been one of Christendom's great cultural centres since it was founded in the 11C. The library, whose ceremonial hall extends 70m on either side of a cupola-crowned central rotunda, is a superb Rococo structure worthy of the treasures displayed within it. After admiring the upper gallery, with its wrought-iron balustrade, note the ceiling frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte, as well as Josef Stammel's famous groups of sculptures, The Four Last Things.
