The complex gives a good idea of Ancient Greek and Roman religious practices. From the 8C-4C AD, Ancient Cypriots revered the Apollo "of the woods" here (Hylates). The parade avenue leads to the temenos, the sacred precinct. Of the temple proper, only a part of the pediment remains and has been hoisted back up by archaeologists. There were also baths: their well-preserved vestiges are protected by an awning.
